The Hebrew word for Lightning is: בָּרָק

( Don't ask me how to pronounce that lol )

The Hebrew word for Thunder is: רַעַם

Why did I make a page just for thunder and lightning?

Because in scripture, these two phenomenon are a big deal. God's voice is described as the weather throughout scripture. Throughout the Psalms it talks about his thunderings and lightnings, and in Psalm 29, 93, 98, and 147 off of the top of my head, it verifies that meteorological phenomenon are all part of the complex voice of the Ancient Of Days. Also, recall the story of Noah and the Ark, and the great flood, which did rain 40 days and 40 nights, as by the will of the Most High. Scripture also tells us that Jah also can commune through dreams, and spirit ( hints, "the holy spirit", or "holy ghost" ). There are many ways of hearing God's voice, for it comes in many forms, both from within, and from the external as well. (or what at least is perceived to be that way. I myself am learning Hebrew and wanted to start with some of my favorite words first. I am a sucker for a good word man.

Any mention of thunder and lightning is tied to the memory of Hurricane Opal for me, 1995 baby. Exodus 20, 1st and 2nd commandments.

The video below I recorded on May 20, 2017

I didn't realize until later that May the 5th month, plus 2 = 7

2 from 20, 2+0=0 so we just ignore the zero.

How does our scientific understanding of lightning define it?

"Lightning is a naturally occurring electrostatic discharge during which two electrically charged regions, both in the atmosphere or with one on the ground, temporarily neutralize themselves, causing the instantaneous release of an average of one gigajoule of energy.[1][2][3] This discharge may produce a wide range of electromagnetic radiation, from heat created by the rapid movement of electrons, to brilliant flashes of visible light in the form of black-body radiation. Lightning causes thunder, a sound from the shock wave which develops as gases in the vicinity of the discharge experience a sudden increase in pressure. Lightning occurs commonly during thunderstorms as well as other types of energetic weather systems, but volcanic lightning can also occur during volcanic eruptions." wikipedia.org

Another reason I made a page titled "thunder and lightning" is because of the memory of Hurricane Opal. It was the voice of God. God was the preacher, and the name of the sermon was "Opal". The start of this story begins with Armageddon like lightning that took place early in the morning, somewhere around 5 am, that was like nothing I have ever seen before. The closest in video form that I have seen is from Germany(around 86 seconds I think  {1(a) minute 20}. This is the only video of lightning that is on par with what I witnessed on Oct 4, 1995, while hurricane Opal approached Navarre Florida that morning. It was for the record books, and quite a sight to behold.
